Dr Sarah Hazell
Sarah is a talented science communicator and trainer, working on a freelance basis for First Create The Media.
She holds a first class honours degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Glasgow. Her skills in the lab also earned her a PhD from the University of Dundee, specialising in molecular communication during gestational development.
After leaving the lab, Sarah led a small team at Glasgow Science Centre responsible for delivering content and interpretation for visitors to the BodyWorks exhibition. She spent the next 4 years working in science communication and as a media spokesperson for Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Now. Her claim to fame is sharing airtime with Liz Hurley on Loose Women.
Her most recent role at the AMRC was events focused, including developing and delivering training workshops for communications professionals. She also provided comms and media training for researchers at Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Now.
Now that she’s gone fully free-range, Sarah keeps busy with a portfolio of other endeavours, including teaching Body Pump & Body Combat, running dog-friendly exercise classes for her business Fetch Fitness, and is a KonMari tidying consultant in training.
